JOB TITLE: Community Farm/Farmers Market Production/Harvest Crew SKILLS NEEDED: High production orientation Good discernment of quality standards Ability to maintain accurate records and organization DUTIES: Members of this crew can expect a majority of their season to be spent hand harvesting produce, both with and without a knife and preparing that produce for Community Farm and Farmers Market accounts. This involves cleaning, counting, boxing, and storing produce. Some simple equipment use may be required. Time not harvesting and processing will be spent on other farm tasks including transplanting and hoeing. Specific responsibilities include: 1. Following specific quality standards as outlined by the supervisor. 2. Maintaining an acceptable production output. 3. Maintaining proper care of tools. 4. Maintaining accurate records of harvest as required. 5. Keeping all work areas orderly and clean. 6. Some harvester/processors will be put in charge of harvesting and/or processing a particular crop. In this case the worker will assume additional responsibilities. 7. Some workers will also be trained to drive box trucks for CSA and farmers’ market deliveries.
